The organisation provides residential living, education and physical activity in an atmosphere congenial for children. Its residential facility is possibly the largest of its kind in Eastern India – 25 acres comprising more than 900 boarders.

Khamahya Balak Ashram

Khamahya Balak Ashram was created to provide abandoned children with direction, treatment and hope, Mr.Madhab Bhattacharya launched this institution in 1989, to improve the lives of orphans and children. The facility comprises 58 children who receive full-fledged education (nursery to class ten) in addition to underprivileged neighbourhood children.

Jyoti Development Trust is engaged in educating girls. Since 1993, it has directly impacted the lives of hundreds of girls, boys and women. Indirectly it has impacted the lives of thousands of people within the 100 kilometre radius of IIT Kharagpur campus. Disha operates a residential school. The organisation looks into diverse areas like healthcare, extra-curricular activities, mainstream education and entrepreneurial skill development.

Anand Shiksha Niketan

Anand Shiksha Niketan’s founder, Babar Ali, is also the Headmaster of the school. He is The Youngest Headmaster in the World. In 2002, he started the school in his backyard with just eight students. He would take classes for them after returning from school. The school was named ‘Anand Shiksha Niketan’ and it started growing each year. Today it has strength of about 800+ students.

Help Us Help Them (HUHT)

Help Us Help Them (HUHT) is a not-for-profit organization working directly with underprivileged children by catering to their needs of education and overall development.HUHT started a ‘Bus School’. The bus has a seating capacity of 175 sq ft (on the floor) with customised desks. It plies every weekday at the intersection of Southern Avenue and SP Mukherjee Road and off the Park Circus Maidan.

Ek Tara

Ek Tara is a registered charitable trust working relentlessly towards providing free compulsory education to girls and vocational training to women from less-privileged backgrounds residing in the slums of Topsia and Tiljila in Kolkata. They have recently moved to a larger facility spread across an area of 5000 square feet. The facility caters to more than 385 girls and women, imparting education, vocational training and health and hygiene awareness.
