Jungle Crow is an NGO constituted in India as a Charitable Trust focussed on the growth and development of the young people in particular through the use of sport. Jungle Crow teaches underprivileged children rugby. The organisation has created a programme (Khelo Rugby), where their coaches visit Kolkata slums for talent spotting.
Jeevika Development Society
Jeevika Development Society is a community based NGO, furthering the socio-economic rights of women, and challenging gender based discrimination and violence. Jeevika works across 67 villages of South 24 Parganas, connecting 11600+ women and their families through programmes related to livelihood, agriculture and right activism.
Islampur Ramkrishnapally Rural Welfare Society
Islampur Ramkrishnapally Rural Welfare Society has achieved success in generating employment through the MNREGA scheme. Its Livelihood Intervention through Developed Farming & Enterprise (LIFE) initiative benefitted 350+ families; its computer education programme helped make 840 youths tech-literate; its consumer awareness and advocacy programme made 3,000+ rural consumers aware of their rights.
Disha
Disha is a non-governmental organization which provides assistance to marginalized children, youth and women from the Manoharpukur slum area in Kolkata. Disha supports a child through various stages of education, from 2 to 18 years of age. Disha encourages and sponsors higher education in professional courses as well as vocational training facilities to make young people job-ready and spur self-development and awareness.
Chaplin Club
Chaplin Club, a self sustained society, which has grown by leaps and bounds over the years. In its own words, the NGO ‘works with the people and not for the people’. The NGO is engaged in grassroots welfare, empowerment and societal betterment across the areas of child protection, women’s empowerment, livelihood generation, community healthcare and environmental preservation.
